Urnes Stave Church
The oldest preserved stave church in Norway.
A stave church has been built three times on the same site here at Orneset. A hundred years would pass between the first and the third, the one we can visit today. The timber was felt in the years 1129-1130.
Bøyabreen (Bøya Glacier)
We also stop to have a look at Bøyabreen witch is one of the most spectacular of the glacier branches in Norway. If we’re lucky it might be that we experience big blocks of ice crashing down from the glacier, that’s why we of course will keep a safe distance.
