250km (Optional 200km or 160km)
Friday 8th of June
We start the day exploring small roads and curiosities on Norway´s westernmost point on mainland before we start making our way towards famous Geiranger. In the afternoon we go by ferry through Geiranger Fjord where we can relax and just take in the landscape as the ferry takes us along the fjord all the way to our destination this day.
Along the road
Vestkapp (West Cape)
Norway´s westernmost viewpoint with mainland connection – 496 metres above the sea! On clear days you have a marvellous panoramic view in all directions. You will see the dreaded waters of Stadhavet Ocean with the Sunnmøre Alps, the Hornelen Peak and Ålfotbreen glacier in the background.
Hoddevik
A sandy beach between towering mountains on the westernmost part of mainland Norway.
Hoddevik is very popular for surfers from all over the world.
Kannesteinen rock
The sea has been beating against this rock for thousands of year, shaping it into the “mushroom-like” appearance it has today.
Hellesylt-Geiranger (Ferry)
This 1 h 30 min ferryride will take us into incredible Geiranger Fjord as we relax with traditional snack served on ferries in Norway: svele and a cup of coffee.
Note: The below map might show a slightly different rout than the one we actually ride..
